Tallin
I would never think to come here......glad we stopped for a few hours
Tallinn is the perfect cruise port stop. It’s one of those cities you wouldn’t necessarily fly into for a long weekend, but it’s perfect for a day trip on a cruise stopover. The city is very scenic, with well-preserved buildings and beautiful architecture.
We walked (or rather, hiked) from the port to the main city, navigating the challenging-for-the-buggy cobblestone roads until we reached Town Hall Square. We then continued to the Wall of Independence Column and Freedom Square. We had lunch at one of the beer gardens along the way (Saku beer, anyone?) and strolled through the shops. The Gothic architecture across the city was striking, and it made for a very pleasant day trip.
