I’ve been planning this trip as a birthday present for Dora's birthday, I went all out with a meticulously planned trip to the West Coast of the USA. Her birthday is in March, and I started planning nearly a year in advance. With the post-COVID world still full of uncertainties, I had to replan the trip multiple times, which led to an itinerary that was as detailed as it was over-prepared. Every day was packed with activities, and I had a plan, a backup plan, and even a backup for the backup plan. Thefinal result of the planning can be seen in a video here.

I don’t think I’ve ever put so much effort into planning a holiday. A crazy number of activities and an itinerary planned down to the minute. It sounds silly (and it probably is), but I had a plan, a backup plan, and a backup of the backup plan for everything. This is what COVID does to you when you’ve had to cancel and rebook things several times…
