Cologne
Our first visit to a Formula One race...We are doing a good job with Europe exploration so far...
This trip was all about attending our first live F1 race at the Nürburgring, but we couldn’t resist the opportunity to explore Cologne while we were in Germany. It was our first time in Germany together, and we planned to meet up with Spyros, who flew in from Athens.
Cologne left quite an impression, especially when it came to the beer gardens. The highlight was undoubtedly our night out at one of Cologne’s Brauhauses, where we were served beer in small glasses by a large German guy who had a relentless approach to refills. Every ten minutes, he’d swing by and ask if we wanted more, and saying "no" didn’t seem to be an option. That’s pretty much the most vivid memory I have from that night—well, that and realizing that the British may have a reputation for heavy drinking, but Cologne’s beer culture is on a whole different level!
As for the F1 race at Nürburgring, it was a great experience, but I’ll spare the details—unless you’re an F1 fan, it’s hard to convey the excitement. Let’s just say it was everything we hoped for and more. All in all, it was a trip that combined high-speed thrills with a deep dive into German beer culture, making it unforgettably forgettable…
