Sharm Sheikh

While in Greece, we don’t get a lot of holidays—such is the price of having your own company. This trip was a last-minute booking to a famous resort, off-season for most people because it’s a bit hot, hence cheaper, but we desperately needed a break.

Did I say “a bit hot”? I meant crazy hot… Stupidly hot… Dangerously hot… Medically risky hot… (I could go on…)

The hotel is fantastic. At first, we wondered why they had the air conditioning blasting at 18 degrees—this is crazy! But after a few days, we were thinking, why don’t they crank it down to 12 degrees—this is crazy!

We did the usual resort touristy things (snorkelling, getting drunk at the pool bar, etc.), and then we got bored and decided to explore the old town, which was interesting. We could only do this at night (still too hot), but it was a good escape from the resort.
