Moscow
I thought flying to Russia was easy......until I applied for a visa
We’re back in the UK, which automatically means an opportunity to escape for a long weekend during May’s bank holidays. This time, we chose Moscow.
Planning a trip from London to a Russian city takes some effort. The visa application involves a bit of bureaucracy, which reflects the relationship between the two countries. Nevertheless, it was another spot on the map that we just had to visit.
Beyond the famous monuments around Red Square, Moscow has a lot to offer, but the language barrier (no one speaks any English) and the lack of infrastructure for tourists make any traveller’s life quite difficult. If you’re here with a group or tour operator, you’re probably fine, as you’ll have a local guide, and that’s likely the most popular option for people visiting Moscow.
Highlights of the trip included a fountain in Tsaritsyno Park that danced to music, and the huge choir at Red Square celebrating Victory Day.
