Newquay
The weather for this trip was a gamble......and we lost
For Dora's birthday, I decided to plan a special trip to Newquay, a popular summer destination in the far west of the UK. We knew the weather in March could be unpredictable, and unfortunately, we got the rainy end of the stick.
We stayed at Watergate Bay for three days, a lovely hotel right by the beach with a nice pool, which turned out to be a lifesaver given the non-stop rain. Despite the weather, we managed to take a day trip into Newquay town, where we walked around the coastline and even visited the small zoo.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly our dinner at Jamie Oliver’s 15, located right next to our hotel. The restaurant offered a thoughtful touch by providing tablets connected to a camera in Natalie’s cot, so we could enjoy our meal knowing she was sound asleep just two minutes away.
