Washington DC marked the final leg of our incredible USA West Coast adventure. After a last morning stroll around South Beach in Miami, we took a flight to Washington DC, arriving in the afternoon.

We wasted no time and headed straight to Artechouse, a digital art exhibition known for its immersive and vibrant displays. It was a visual feast, and we ended up with hundreds of colorful pictures. Dinner that evening was at Founding Farmers, a popular spot known for its farm-to-table dishes, before heading back to the hotel to rest up for the next day.

Our first full day in DC was dedicated to the classic walking tour around the National Mall. We visited all the iconic landmarks: the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Arlington National Cemetery, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. It was a packed day, but walking through so much history was inspiring. We wrapped up the day with a unique dining experience at Tsehay, an Ethiopian restaurant that offered a delicious and different culinary experience.

The next day, we took a day trip to Baltimore with a stop at Ellicott City—a charming little place with a park that the kids loved. In Baltimore, we visited the Maryland Science Center and enjoyed a leisurely walk around the Inner Harbor. It was a great mix of learning and relaxation. We took the train back to DC and had a casual dinner at the hotel's sports bar, a nice way to unwind after the day’s explorations.

On our third and final day in DC, we started with a visit to the National Museum of Natural History. It’s a must-see, especially for the kids, with its fascinating exhibits on everything from dinosaurs to gemstones.

After the museum, it was time for Dora’s special birthday surprise: a session at Muse Paint Bar. This place is such a fun concept—you get to book a painting session with a specific theme, and while you paint, there’s an open bar with drinks and snack. So, you get hammered while painting… what a wonderful way to spend you’re a few hours and Dora loved her present…

This brought our epic three-week journey across the USA to a close. It was an incredible experience, meticulously planned (a year in the making!) and full of unforgettable moments. It may have only lasted three weeks, but the memories will last a lifetime.
