Des Alps
Back in this resort after 20 years...... this time with kids
Our first ski holiday with the kids—an adventure I’ve been looking forward to, especially with the hope of introducing them to the world of extreme sports. Maybe, just maybe, if they enjoy it and pick it up quickly, we’ll be able to go down the mountain together in the future before I retire my snowboarding boots.
We went with four other families and stayed in a big chalet about a 20-minute drive from the slopes. While the daily commute to the slopes was a bit of a hassle, the price we paid for the chalet made it worth it. Plus, having a big group added to the fun, even if it wasn’t the hardcore boarding trip I used to do.
One downside was the food. Typical of many French resorts, you could only eat during the specific times they decided to serve (lazy French). But overall, it was a fun experience and a great introduction for the kids to the slopes.
