Day 06b - Trip To Southeast Asia - Kuala Lumpur
Petrosains Towers define the city...and what an impressive definition that is...
We arrived in Kuala Lumpur in the morning and checked into our hotel. The hotel choice was all about location and the themed kids' bedroom, which had been the most talked-about feature of the whole trip for the kids, months before our departure. After dropping off our bags, we headed to the Petrosains Science Discovery Centre, located inside a huge shopping mall within the iconic Petronas Towers, which are inside the KLCC area.
We took what felt like an endless elevator ride to the top of the towers for a tour and walked across the famous sky bridge, offering stunning views of the city. Afterward, we wandered around the Suria KLCC mall, ending the day with a meal at an upmarket buffet restaurant. Kuala Lumpur’s city centre is packed with malls—often right next to each other—each with the common theme of an open-space-cloth-market at the ground floor. The experience can feel a bit overwhelming, and you don’t get much of a local vibe when walking around, but given the heat, walking is kept to a minimum anyway.
