Day 01 - Trip To Southeast Asia - Singapore
A little countrycity that has done wonders...I have never seen so many things in such as small area
We’re off to Southeast Asia, kicking things off with a 14-hour flight from London to Singapore. I had no idea how jet lag would hit us—or the kids for that matter. We left the UK at 5 PM and landed the next day at 4 PM in Singapore. My grand plan? Stumble around the hotel area like a zombie and try to stay awake until late to adjust to the new time zone.
You’d think, "Good luck with that plan, especially with two kids," but surprisingly, it worked!
We checked into the Marina Bay Sands—the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We scored a 50% deal on the room, though it’s still the most I’ve ever paid for a hotel, but honestly, worth every penny. Be prepared for a flood of photos of the hotel, particularly the pool, as I’ll be trying to justify the splurge!
We took a relaxed stroll around the bay and had dinner at Lau Pa Sat, a famous hawker center (think of it as the “malls” of street food in Southeast Asia). An ideal first night to shake off the jet lag and get a taste of Singapore.
