Corbett Park
Welcome to the jungle...Dude… where is my Tiger ?
How long do you thing it takes to go by train from one city to another 250 Km away? If the answer is 7 hours then you must be in India.
We arrived 06:00 in Ramnagar, a small village near the Corbett national park (our destination) where we had to book our jeep tour and accommodation for the safari.
The park is one of the best tiger reserves in India and it is all about making a natural space for them rather than creating a safari park for tourists. Therefore we were told that is rare to spot a tiger but we had our fingers crossed.
We got to see a lot of deer, elephants, monkeys, boars and crocodiles but unfortunately no sight of a tiger. The closest we got to see one was during the elephant ride where we followed some footprints with no luck.
Apart from being close to nature and wild life, one of the best things about the park is that everybody keeps quiet and things like car horns are strictly prohibited. I could not believe that an Indian could ever resist from using the car horn for 2 days but it is true and amazing at the same time.
Of course as soon as we stepped out of the park and we got to the road back to the village, our driver made up all that lost beeping time by making as much noise as he could proudly do.
We are back to Delhi on another overnight train and the day after we are going to Agra’s Taj Mahal and the pink city of Jaipur to complete the famous golden triangle.
Let’s take a moment and pray for less noise in this world, for peace and quiet and for less dust and dirt…
