Jaipur

Jaipur has a city within a city. The old walled city of Jaipur (otherwise known as “pink city”) is a huge bazaar that caters for tourists and locals. Dirty and noisy as any other place but also a host to some very interesting buildings and structures,

Apart from the landmark of the city (a pink sand-stone castle) there is also an area with some peculiar looking structures (instrumentally shaped – if this is a word) which were used for observing the stars. Also we visited a palace which has been turned into a museum and we got our usual fix on temples.

The city has grown outside the walls forming the new Jaipur, which is pretty modern for India.
