Rome
Gelato, monument, photo, gelato, monument, photo...... this is all I remember of Rome...
You have to love Rome—no matter the season, no matter the heat. Even during what was recorded as one of the hottest summers in years (and trust me, it was crazy hot), Rome still has that undeniable charm that draws you in.
Rome isn’t just a city; it’s an open-air museum. You could walk in any direction and find yourself stopping every minute for some gelato while snapping pictures of every second building, which is probably an ancient monument or a historically significant site. The sheer density of history here is overwhelming—in the best way possible.
Given the intense heat, we strategically planned our sightseeing for the early morning or late afternoon hours, when it was slightly cooler. The midday sun was too brutal to do much else besides retreat to a shady spot or an air-conditioned cafe.
I’m not even going to attempt to list highlights, because in Rome, everything is a highlight. The city is a continuous stream of incredible sights, and even narrowing down the photos I wanted to share was a challenge. There’s just too much to see, too much to capture, and too much to love about Rome.
