Whether it's summer or Easter, our beach house has become our little escape paradise.

Investing in a garden pool turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. It adds hours of daily entertainment for the kids, especially on those days when it's either too hot or too crowded to head to the beach.

In the summer, when Greece is scorching hot, the best time to visit the beach is late in the afternoon, around 18:30 to 20:00. The crowds start to disappear, the sea turns into the kind of deep blue you normally see only on Instagram, and the sunset puts on a show that people fly halfway around the world to experience.

Not a bad way to end the day...
