The Grove
The most Luxurious buffet in UK......and the Most Expensive one
This is an overnight stay in a hotel for Dora’s birthday. The Grove is a nice hotel catering for the golf lovers and the rest of the upper class, so we felt right out of place.
The hotel has a huge garden which should be lovely in the summer and it looks like it is a top pick for weddings and other gatherings…
It was good, but not as good as the price and definitely not as good as some buffets we have seen in Singapore.
Not bad experience overall… it was a birthday celebration anyway
This was an overnight stay for Dora’s birthday. The Grove is one of those hotels that caters to golf enthusiasts, luxury weekenders, and upper class people, so naturally we felt completely out of place.
The hotel sits in the middle of a huge estate with beautiful gardens that must be fantastic in the summer. It also looks like the kind of place where people have expensive weddings.
But let’s be honest, we didn’t come here for the gardens, we came for the buffet.
So I’ll spare you the details about the hotel and the nearby park and focus on the important things: food.
Was it good? Absolutely.
Was it as good as the price suggested? Not quite.
Was it as good as some of the buffets we discovered in Singapore? Not even close.
Still, it was a fun experience, the food was excellent, and it made for a very nice birthday celebration. Besides, if you’re going to overpay for a buffet, a birthday seems as good an excuse as any.
