Psatha

I have picked up a new hobby while we're here. It started as an excuse to use our wood-fired oven one afternoon, and somehow it has turned into a full-blown baking obsession.

These days, everyone expects fresh focaccias and 48-hour cold-fermented sourdough bread to come out of the oven whenever we visit. I have to admit, it had become one of my favourite parts of being here.

The traditional Easter celebrations, on the other hand, probably don't need another detailed description. It's the usual lamb on the spit, intestines and other "interesting" bits slowly cooking over the BBQ, and egg painting, which, now that the kids are older, has somehow become a highly competitive professional sport.

For me, Greece has always been about two things: beaches and food. Fortunately, this place scores a perfect 10 out of 10 in both.
